Smartphones

In the beginning of 2008 this is the panorama of mobile networks (considering specifically mobile phone networks):
  • 3.1 billion mobile phones in use;
  • 9% of these are smartphones (like Blackberry, Palm Treo, HP and others)
  • 64% of all smartphones use Symbian, 11% Windows Mobile, 11% Linux, 10% Blackberry OS, 2% Palm OS and 1% Mac OS.
To compare to the mobile network, the internet has around 850 million computers connected,
where 90% use Windows.

What are our previsions at Fazion?
  • all mobiles will be like “smartphones” until 2010;
  • interface touch screens about 300 pixels width;
  • Windows Mobile will share a big market slice;
  • killer applications will not come from the actual major players;
  • corporative applications will create the best profits;
  • mobile advertisement yet to be developed and defined.
